The majority of sportspeople who succeed have supportive parents
who are always available but rarely if ever pushy.
Research was carried out at Waikato University (New Zealand)
in the early 1990s that targeted some of New Zealand's greatest
sporting performers and the only aspect that was consistent
amongst them all was that they all believed their parents
were supportive and not pushy.
The research clearly indicated that if you want your child
to fail then push them.
Only a few (on the world scene) have succeeded when pushed
and it is debatable whether they turn out to be the types
of people we want our children to be.

This Program provides parents with ideas and thoughts that will keep them
focused on the role of 'support' while providing lots of information that will
better prepare them to provide that support.
The program content will help parents understand what athletes go through and
therefore provide the knowledge to the parents that will enable them to support
their family the best they can.
The weekly communications are designed to provoke thought and the search
capabilities of the program will enable parents to have advice whenever they
want it or need it most.
